Indian President Droupadi Murmu meets the Indian diaspora Sightholders who are members of Botswana Diamond Manufacturers Association at Gaborone Botswana, lead by the hashtag#BDMA Chairman Siddarth Gothi.

She learned that over 50% of Botswana’s Sightholders are of Indian origin.

The visit entailed the strengthening of bilateral ties between India and Botswana. BDMA proposed Surat and Gaborone to become twin cities for Natural Diamond value addition and to advance shared development goals.

In her historic address to BDMA members, President Murmu underscored the two nations’ commitment to the sustainable growth of the diamond industry. While she also appreciated the remarkable work the Indian hashtag#Sightholders of hashtag#DeBeers are doing in Botswana.

BDMA thanks the High Commissioner of India to Botswana, H.E. Bharath Kumar Kuthati for playing an instrumental role in this historic engagement.
